Michelle Pesce is an internationally acclaimed DJ, Founder/CEO of the artist agency, nona entertainment and a Co-Founder of woman. collective. She was recently featured on Forbes.com and in InStyle Magazine’s 2020 Badass Women issue along with 49 others including Nancy Pelosi, Billie Eillish, Judy Chicago, Melina Matsoukas, Hoda Kotb, Kacey Musgraves, Katie Porter, Sharon Stone, Kelly Clarkson and Dakota Johnson.
A native from Youngstown, Ohio, Michelle developed a deep love for 80s and 90s hip-hop and pop music at an early age. She nurtured her love for the music and entertainment scene at Wolf-Kasteler, an entertainment PR firm, that served to launch her work as a personal publicist representing some of the top actors and musicians around the globe.
After attending Woodstock ’99, Michelle was enthralled by the energy created when you mix world-class acts and hundreds of thousands of fans to experience the power of music. The three-day festival was the gateway to her interest in DJing. Shortly thereafter, she purchased a set of Technics turntables to teach herself the craft. In 2004, under the mentorship of DJ Spinderella (Salt-n-Pepa), Pesce transitioned from publicity to DJ'ing full-time.
Michelle’s ability to read a crowd and mix old with new—in hip hop, R&B, rock, electro, deep house and pop—has kept top-tier clients coming back. She is currently the most in-demand DJ for major Hollywood Award Season parties, including those for the Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild, Emmys and Academy Awards, and she is the only DJ to spin for the Recording Academy eleven times on Music's Biggest Night: the Recording Academy's Official Grammys after-party.
Her work as a DJ has taken her around the world packing dance floors for top-tier entertainment publications and companies including InStyle, GQ, Vogue, Vanity Fair, Marie Claire, Entertainment Weekly, People, Amazon, Disney, Paramount, Fox Searchlight, Warner Bros, Pixar, Hulu, Viacom, NBCUniversal, Levi's, DVF, Marc Jacobs, Bvlgari, Tom Ford, to film festivals including Sundance Film Festival and TIFF and private parties for various actors, top industry leaders and musicians. Michelle performed live multiple times on the #1 national morning show Good Morning America and has also appreared on HBO's Entourage as herself.
With a thought for those who will follow, Michelle leverages her status as a veteran DJ and the reach of her company, nona, to advocate for pay equity, to keep quality DJs working, and to achieve epic dance floors.
