Cadillac Kicks Off Oscar Weekend at the Chateau Marmont
The mood was seriously merry at Cadillac’s annual pre-Oscars bash on Thursday night at the Chateau Marmont, and not just because select guests were ushered to the event in the classic American automotive company’s sleek and speedy new CT6. This year marks the fifth year for Cadillac as the official automotive sponsor of the Academy Awards, and the brand recently unveiled its new Oscar spot, which calls for unity and leans on its history of ferrying stars (like Muhammad Ali and Marilyn Monroe, both featured) to some of the most important events in their careers, a tradition that will continue on Sunday as the nominees turn up to the Dolby Theatre in Cadillac vehicles. Guests like Tiffany Haddish (glamorous in a Grecian-inspired frock), Sarah Silverman, a brightly blonde Mamie Gummer, and Best Supporting Actress nominee Allison Janney were all on hand for Thursday’s fete, which sprawled through the property. The DJ, Michelle Pesce, in a floral sequined Marc Jacobs column, won the crowd over early with classic dance hits as guests surveyed the hors d’oeuvres and passed trays of Champagne, warming up for the long weekend of events ahead.
